Accessory Swap Goodies!

A few weeks ago I signed up for Lena's bracelet swap. I was paired up with Christy from A Lil Dash Of Diva and I have to say for someone who has never read my blog, only asked what my favorite colour and style was. She did extremly well. I got so spoiled and actually got a little teary that I only made her a bracelet. Christy sent me some great pieces! She even sent something for Peyton! Well it may have been for me, but I think Peyton has claimed it for herself.

Anyways on the the really good part. Here is what Christy sent me!

Peyton trying to claim the bracelet as well!

Thank you once again Christy! I love it all so much!!

xoxoAmber

Tantrums and Forgiveness

Its that time of year again. Not christmas, but that time of year when little ones seem to know christmas is coming so that means its ok to act out. I have been pretty lucky with Ethan, his tantrums and out bursts or fairly minimal since we got out of the three year old stage where you really question yourself as to why you had children, and will this limit pushing business ever end?

However on Friday it was a completely different story. Ethan for whatever reason did his first ever ''mean'' thing to Peyton. He didn't hurt her he just kept yelling back in her face anytime she cried. I sent him to his room, deciding this was something he needed to know was rude and not apporitate to yell in anyones face, especially baby Pea.

Everything went downhill from there, 3 hours of him getting angry for having to go to his room, screaming, throwing stuffies, kicking his bed. I very rarely yell at Ethan because I find he just doesn't hear me anyways, but I did break down and by the end I was also yelling.

I tried just letting him sort things out for himself. But all he did was just yell from his room. I hate yelling at Ethan, its not the kind of Mama I envisioned I would be. When I was pregnant with Ethan, Jason bought me a book about Audrey Hepburn written by her son. The way he talked about her, and the things he said of her. Motivated me to use her as a guide through motherhood.

Deep down I know I can't be what I think is ideal all the time. I need to find a better way of coping when I am taken off that path know. I need to find a way to remind myself that its ok to be furusterated every now and then, and that there is a very big chance that when Ethan is older he probably won't even remember me getting angry.

By late afternoon he was calmed down and he and I were back to being BFFs.

While in his room even baby Pea had crawled in to see Ethan and forgive him for upsetting her a little more then she already was.

Street Fashion - streetscout.me

A couple of weeks ago I started contributing to streetscout.me this is a great site to see what people are wearing outside the world of the magazines. I remember once in high school a teacher asked the class where do designers get their idea's from? A few people said the media, but most of us knew that most likely they looked at what people were wearing on the streets. Now of course this could turn into a disscussion something like what came first: The chicken or the egg? More and more people today are wanting to step outside the box and develop their own unique style. With sites like Street Scout. These are great sites to look to for inspiriation.

Over the last couple of years I have found that I am finding my own fashion inspiriation from other people on the street or other fashion bloggers. Its so refreshing to see people styling themselves in really creative outfits. And helping to put the focus back on all the really great trend setters out there.

The woman behind this site is Sabrina, I met her a couple of years ago when I volunteered at VFW, and when I saw that she was looking for contributors I couldn't resist seeing if I would be a good fit! streetscout.me has contributors all over Canada and now a few in Europe as well.

Momma + Toddler Style Matching Coats {pretty nods winner}

So I am not going to lie, I am one of those Momma's that loves dressing my little ones up to look like mini versions of what Jason or I are wearing. I found this coat for Ethan in March and loved that he and I could look great together! And since I felt I was having an especially fashionable day this day I talked Jason into a mini shoot with me and my little guy!

I also thought I would try the boot socks trend. I loved it, and I think I will be doing this all fall!

The winner comment is from Sara T.

''I like the necklace that is up for winning''

Congrats and you have 48 hours to contact me or a new winner will be selected.

Thanks to everyone that entered!

Trick Or Treat Garden Gnome Style

This year for Halloween we dressed up as garden gnomes. This idea was 100% Ethan's idea, I was so thrilled at his creativity and thinking to be something a little unique. We had a great night, we went trick or treating with a friend of Ethan's. This was the first year we went with a friend, and I think it made the night just that much more fun for Ethan and his friend.

Putting on the gnome-y beard. It didn't last long though..

Long enough for a few photo at least!

Hope everyone had as great a Halloween as we did!

Its a shelf? Its a spice rack? Nope! Its a bookholder!

This idea has been all over Pintrest and the blogsphere but I could not resist doing it myself also! Let me tell you finding these shelves was not easy. I knew they were at Ikea, but the first time we went it seemed like something that they would be in the market area, after looking for what felt like hours we decided to give up and go home, and would try again another day. At this point both Ethan and Peyton were cranky and tired so asking where else they might be was not an optition that trip. A couple of weeks later Jason suprised me by asking if I wanted to go to Ikea. This time I was determined to get those spice racks! Turns out they were with the kitchen displays. Angry for not thinking of that I told Jason that was silly that they were there and not in the market place.

Time to read! A few more DIY projects and the reading nook will be complete!
